Psalm 23
A psalm of David.
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.
What does Psalm 23 say to you? Here is what it says to me…
The Lord is my protector, defender, and redeemer. In Him, I have everything I need.
He gives me peace and rest. He renews my soul.
He directs my paths and gives me purpose. His will be done.
Even though I walk through the darkness of this world, I will not be afraid. He watches over me, leads me, and teaches me.
In Him, I find strength and love because He is with me. Emmanuel, God with us.
You take care of me, Lord, no matter what situation arises. My comforter.
I am chosen. I am yours and you are mine.
My heart is full of joy and gratitude.
While on Earth, I will follow you all the days of my life and do your will, not mine.
You give me blessings and mercies new each day.
I look forward to the day I come home to be with you in Heaven for eternity. Until then, I serve you and praise you, Lord.
